Antarctica!
The 3-5 grade class learned a lot about Antarctica in January. We followed a blog from a scientific cruise. And we got to talk to people in Antarctica by video-conferencing and we got to see penguins! Follow this link to the blog: http://pal.lternet.edu/outreach/blogs/cruise201101/
Field Report from 2/3/11
The 3rd-5th grade went to Bartlett Cove on February 3rd, 2011. We found eggs, and we are not sure if they are fish eggs. We posted a photo. This was the first trip we took a ruler and used it in our photos. It was Kimber’s idea—thank you Kimber!
We also saw pink, slimy gooey stuff that we weren’t sure was a plant or an animal. There is a photo posted and we would like to know what it is!
During our sound-map we heard goldeneye ducks. They made a noise like a whistle while they were flying. We don’t know why they make that noise and neither does Steve.
We didn’t find any plastic there for the second time!
